Brandon Shuping

Brandon Shuping makes his home in Mingo County Wv ..Brandon was born in Melbourne, Florida and was raised in North Carolina. Brandon was born into a musical family steeped in bluegrass tradition. His father, the late Garland Shuping was a well respected banjo player who played in the late 70's with Jim and Jesse among others.

By the age of 12, Brandon was playing upright bass with his mother and father and well on his way to becoming the well respected musician he is today. Brandon has played with the James King Band, and The Bluegrass Strangers just to name a few. Brandon played with Route 23 for 2 years before taking a short vacation in 2004. Brandon is now back on the mandolin and is an intrical part of the Route 23 sound.
